Helping People Explore New Places to Eat: FoodE

Spring 2022

FoodE is an app that was a semester-long project for my UI Design and Development course where we went through the entire research and design process. My idea for this app stemmed from not knowing where to go to get coffee or out to dinner in cities that I am visiting. This app targets users that like to explore new places to eat or drink at, and allows for the user to look at one place instead of viewing multiple sites.

The research process for this project started with a survey that I had seven people fill out to learn about all types of users, and I found that most people were frustrated with using google or restaurant review apps due to lack of information, such as reviews without pictures, or having useful filter options. WIth this in mind, I created an app that requires the user to post a picture with their review, and I made multiple options from filtering.

User testing for this app when smoothly with a few aspects that needed to be changed for a better overall experience. Some things I changed was adding titles to icons to make readability more clear, and fixed a couple prototyping linking errors.
